Gary Arnold founded Esterra Development in 2005 with the goal of identifying ideal property for commercial real estate development and developing it to its highest potential. Esterra has delivered substantial returns on various properties including industrial, retail, and luxury residential offerings.
Gary is responsible for guiding the direction of the company and locating ideal real estate properties for future endeavors. Esterra Development currently has three projects in the works including Bell Mar Neighborhood Shopping Plaza, The Aero Gateway Center and Luxian Scottsdale.
A seasoned entrepreneur and business executive, Gary began his career as a CPA for Price Waterhouse. Additionally, Gary spent more than 15 years in technology related fields, including serving as a Division Executive within Dynatech Corporation.
In 1993, Gary started an Internet-based transaction processing business, Virtual Cyber Systems, which he sold in 2000 to a Fortune 500 company. Following the sale of this company, Gary began his career in commercial real estate.
In addition to owning Esterra Development, Gary is a partner in TAG Commercial, LLC, a commercial real estate brokerage company founded in 2006. Gary graduated from Arizona State University in 1970 with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting.
R. Nicholas Loope, FAIA

HL Design Build, LLC
R. Nicholas Loope is the managing principal designer and owner of HL Design Build, LLC, a general contracting firm that specializes in custom homes, Equity Resort Ownership, and specialty retail. Loope is also the owner and principal architect of R. Nicholas Loope, FAIA, a boutique design firm also focused on custom residential, urban infill and specialty retail. He is a founding member and serves on the board of directors of PDI, an international architectural design consortium with six offices in the United States and several others in southern Asia.
His international experience does not end there. His work on more than 350 high rise buildings, upscale country clubs, destination resort spas, residential communities, custom homes, urban mixed-use developments, high tech manufacturing facilities, university buildings, and historic renovations can be seen in the U.S. and abroad. Since 1978, Loope has gained significant international business and design experience in Canada, mainland China, Hong Kong, France, Japan, Korea, Ireland, Mexico, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, the Dominican Republic, the Philippines, and Taiwan.
R. Nicholas Loope received a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Maryland and continued his education, earning a Master of Environmental Design from Yale University. He has participated in several continuing education programs, including the PMD program at the Harvard Business School, as well as several forums and seminars at St. John’s College.
Today, Loope is the director of the Real Estate Development masters program and director of Real Estate Programs at Arizona State University’s College of Design, where he has been a tenured faculty member since 1989. In addition to teaching, Loope serves on the board of directors of both Habitat for Humanity and the ASU Stardust Center for Housing and the Family. Loope has also authored and/or co-authored more than 30 articles, papers, and book chapters.
